Your Ausbildung Application Is a Story. Make Every Piece Connect.
Think of your application as a set of puzzle pieces. Each one tells the employer something about you. The strongest profile is the one where the pieces fit together.

A connected profile:
🎓 Your background → 🧰 Your experience → 🎯 Your chosen occupation → 🗣️ Your preparation
The “why this occupation?” test
Imagine an employer asks:
“Why did you choose this Ausbildung?”
A convincing answer connects three things:
What you’ve done + what interests you + what you want to learn
For example, someone interested in hospitality might connect customer service experience with an interest in working with guests and learning professional hotel operations. Your own answer should come from your real background and reasons.
Check your profile in five minutes
Give yourself one point for each statement you can honestly say “yes” to:
My CV clearly shows my education and experience.
I can explain why I chose this occupation.
My documents support the information in my CV.
I’m actively improving my German.
I can describe what I hope to learn during the training.
Your result
4–5 points → Your profile has a clear foundation. Review it for accuracy and practise explaining it aloud.
2–3 points → Choose the missing pieces to work on before applying.
0–1 points → Start with your goals, documents, and German learning plan. Build one step at a time.
This is a preparation check, not a measure of whether you’ll receive an offer. Requirements and selection processes vary between employers and training programmes.
Make the pieces easy to follow
đź“„ Keep your CV clear
Use a simple layout and make sure your dates, education, and experience are easy to understand.
đź”— Connect your experience to the occupation
Even experience from another field can show useful skills. Explain what you actually learned and how it relates to the training you’re applying for.
🗣️ Show how you’re preparing
Be ready to talk honestly about your current German level and how you’re working to improve it.
🎤 Practise your story
Say your answer out loud. If it sounds confusing, simplify it. You should be able to explain your motivation in your own words.
One profile. One clear direction.
A CV, certificates, language preparation, and interview answers shouldn’t feel like separate pieces of your life. Together, they should help someone understand who you are, why you chose this field, and how you’re preparing for the next step.
